Product Spotlight

This Weeks Featured Product – Helen’s Famous Apple Butter

When it comes to Apple Butter there are a lot of cheap versions out there.  A lot are made from the pulp left over after making Apple Juice, others are cooked a very short time, while others use poor quality spices.

What makes ours so special and so good?

We use a secret blend of Apples.
We use the Apples natural juice as a cooking median.
Our Apple Butter cooks between 18 and 20 hours over low heat, this creates the deep brown color and caramelizes the apples.
We use the highest quality spices available.
We blend it to a silky smooth texture.
And lastly it is made with love.

We have it in both 4oz and 8oz sizes.

We will be sampling ours so you know what you are getting!  For those adventurous people out there don’t forget to try our Bourbon Apple Butter, same great recipe, same process, but with Buffalo Trace Bourbon added. All the flavor but no Kentucky Hug.

Our Products

Our Jams and Jellies are handmade in our kitchen; our seasoning blends are hand blended; and our Dip Mixes are custom blended in bulk by another Ohio Company and inspected, measured, packaged, and labeled by us.  This allows us not only to guarantee the highest quality but also keep prices reasonable.  We operate under the Ohio Cottage Food Laws.

Our Story

The Best Jams and Jellies Since 2018

What started as a stress diversion from our full time jobs has grown and grown to the largest variety of Jam and Jelly flavors in Ohio.  During peak season we top 130 different varieties, and always have at least 100.

When COVID hit in 2020 and we both were working from home Bob started his Seasoning Blend line.

Our Farmers Market customers have driven our expansion by asking “Why don’t you”, “can you get”, and “you need to do dips”.  This also lead to our Elite Line of Spices and Seasoning Blends as well as our Dip Mixes and Popcorn Seasonings.

No Harmful Chemicals

We do not use High-Fructose Corm Syrup, no harmful colorings, and no anti-clumping agents.

Doing things the Old Fashioned Way

Our Recipes are a collection that your grandma would have used, We use a large variety of the best fruit and berries in classic and modern ways.

Supporing Local Farms

We purchase as much fruit as we can from Local Farms and even pick a lot of it ourselves at local Farms.

Why River Vue Gardens?

Why the River Vue Gardens Name for a Jam, Jelly, and Seasoning Business?

When Helen decided to sell her Jams and Jellies at the local Ohio Valley Farmers Market she wanted a name that represented where her Jams came from.

Having purchased a home above Bellaire Ohio we discovered that it was full of surprises.  Having been built by Dr. Tom Ring, a very popular local doctor, it became apparent the property was someplace special as Dr. Ring was a highly skilled Hybridizer of Rhododendrons and incredible gardener and blessed the property not only beautiful flowers but a variety of trees that rivals some arboretums.

This incredible view of the Ohio River was blocked by an overgrown Cyprus Hedge and only discovered when Bob was checking out the roof.   So the view inspired us to remove the hedge and start reclaiming what was once here, adding to it, and naturally christening our business “River Vue Gardens”.  Eleven years later every spring brings something new popping up that was not there before., either “Gifts” from passing birds, or long dorment sprouts.
